Time to get off our asses

It's been a couple of weeks since we had a quick discussion regarding the future of the guild and our status.

Frankly I think it's time we started focusing on something and got it off the ground. To that end let's get Naxx up and running. I'm throwing out the challenge that our first guild Naxx run should be held between this Sat and Wed., Dec. 18. That gives everyone working on it 5-10 days to get their poop in a group - which I think should be more than enough time.

I know we discussed other topics and not just raiding but it's my feeling we need to get started and pick the rest up as we go. Implement, then add.

We already have 4-6 people ready or currently in Naxx with other guilds.

First question - are you guys who are currently doing Naxx going to be running with us or staying with your current runs?

Second item:

If you are coming with us then I see our set up as follows:
Ali/Ewe MT/OT
Alith/Malhois heals
Rannia/Razen Melee DPS

(note: the above are all pretty much ready to go)

Caster DPS
Agro - boomkin
Avine - mage
Allendil - hunter

The final spot I presume is Firac's DK - I know I have an 80 DK but since we have so many ppl leveling DKs, I've decided Agro would be of more use to the guild. So I'll get Agro up there as soon as I can. If push comes to shove I can sub mine in for 1 week but I'm going to be pushing to get a second 80 druid in guild.

Which leaves us with 3 melee, 3 casters and the tanking/healing spots

I'd like comments on this set up - whether or not you think it's viable and whether or not the listed people can make a raid or not. Finally we need a time.

To discuss details I think we should have a guild chat on vent (presuming its still working) Monday or Tuesday evening. I'm not going to call for officers but I'd like to see the people listed attend if they can and if they cannot then send your thoughts with someone else.

Also,

We have subs we can use if needed, Clash comes to mind and we have to also remember that we have others in guild that are grinding up to 80, albeit a little slower. They MUST NOT be neglected.

I've noticed that many of them are quiet in vent and on guild chat. I'm asking the officers to reach out a bit more, offer up your hellos, chat with them a bit. Don't let them feel like they aren't needed or they will go away. The truth is we DO need these people and we as officers should be doing more to engage them in the guild. You don't have to provide free stuff or services but you should go out of your way to at the very least say hello.

I know the grinding of leveling is wearing a bit thin on us all but let's forget that for a bit and focus on our goals.

More questions for those of you who have completed the new Naxx. Can we bring undergeared players? Or is it a must that we start running heroics? If so then I'm calling fora 5man heroic squad, people can rotate in and out of this as needed but we should count on 1-2 heroic runs a night to help gear people for raiding.

I'm anticipating a second Naxx raid beginning right around the holiday or shortly afterwards. Usually people have plans for the 24-25th but generally have the week following free - until New Year's anyway. Let's leave this week open and keep in mind others who will be getting to 80 between now and then as possible for a second Naxx run.

I also want to address the issue of karma and the guild web site.

Firac said last time that he'd been paying for the site and we all know he's paying for vent.

I'm afraid the cost issue is something that we all have to address and right now.

I can't afford to pay anything - I'm sorry but that's the way it is when you're outta work. I also know there's a few other people who are in the same boat. The truth is, even if I had a job I have other commitments in terms of money that would likely prevent me from paying for more than the cost of 2 accounts - one of which may be cancelled soon.

So lets find alternatives rather than asking peter to pay for everything. We don't NEED a new website for karma - we can use email and trust OR we can simply use a different system. DKP may suck but its established and I don't believe it requires us to pay money to operate - I don't really know how the details work though regarding tracking. We also don't NEED a paid guild website.

There are plenty of alternatives and I've even pointed a few out to Firac in the past. They do require more input than this site uses but they are free.

Thoughts??

I spoke with the Raid Leader of the Naxx10 that I'm attending. He said that it shouldn't be a problem to find a tank to replace me. So, after this week, I'll be available to raid with you folks.

Again, I don't have a job right now, so I should be able to raid on any day except Sundays.

I'm doing my best, all things considered. I hit 77 tonight.... if I can get some instances tomorrow that should help get experience. I think Rev should be 80 by Saturday. But even then, how are we supposed to really do much in naxx? Not to sound stupid, Ali is geared good... and so is Alith and Agro, and apparently Magde. I just hope I will be geared enough.
